Day 37 - Result

Today, I did about 15 follow up calls but was only able to talk to 5. Most of them were on voice message. Calls are for asking questions about My Power Mall.

I talked to Priscilla who was initially excited but when she found out that the World Changer Mall is a paid subscription, she became less interested. However, she said she will look at the video again and will call me back.

I also to my first sign up, Adria, who was asking about the back office. We will set up another phone call for me to help her.

Several follow up e-mails were sent to provide information about My Power Mall.

Day 36 - Start of Week 6

I'm travelling from my Christmas weekend today back to Massachussets so I was not able to call my leads for follow up.

However, I replied to several e-mails including request for phone appointments (which is typically questions about the My Power Mall business).

Sunday, December 28, 2008

Day 35- End of Week 5: I got my first sign up!

I got my first sign up today. She is not local but one of those referred by my network in Phoenix.

I spend the day continuing to e-mail my leads and contacts. Several e-mails were made to provide more information about My Power Mall.

I also made follow up phone calls. Several phone appointments were made for next since they can't really talk to me today. I had two calls who said NO and that they are not interested. (One of them was scammed before and didn't want me to give MPM a chance to prove itself.)

Saturday, December 27, 2008

Day 34 - Results

I sent about 10 Keep in Touch Holiday e-mails with contacts mentioning what I'm doing at My Power Mall. Also did follow up call in the morning talking to 3 contacts.

Went to my friend Richard's Coin Shop and hanged out to distribute my card. We later went out to lunch and gave away cards to the manager and restaurant staff.

For the rest of the day, I was able to e-mail back replies to questions about My Power Mall. I will one tomorrow who seems to be interested to start.

Friday, December 26, 2008

Day 33 - Day after Christmas

I continued to follow up my leads and was able to talk to about 3 people who e-mailed me. There were several scheduled phone call that was rescheduled.

I got 6 e-mails today responding to the video. Most of them were out of my state being referrals of my other networks.

Thursday, December 25, 2008

Day 32 - Christmas Day Networking

Christmas was spent meeting new friends and relatives catching and when I have the chance promoting what I do.

In between activities, I send follow up e-mail making Christmas as an excuse to connect, follow up and catch up. I got several e-mails wanting to connect after the holidays.

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Day 31 - Merry Christmas!

It's getting crazy today calling and greeting people. Sending e-mails to keep in touch.

You all have a Merry Christmas!

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Day 30 - Holiday Kind of Networking

I was busy with last minute stuff for Christmas so I was not able to go out and follow up my leads. However, I had several phones to follow up people. However, those who e-mailed to to call them were not available to talk and asked me to call back.

I also send several e-mails to those who watched the video and have some questions.

One of the cool things I did today was my Holiday kind of networking which is to bake some cookies, wrapped them and went around my neighbors to distribute them. At the same time, especially those that I have not met, I got this chance to introduce myself, tell them what I do and gave my card. Next follow up will be ask them to watch the video!

I might still be able to call some people who e-mailed me to call them tomorrow, Christmas Eve (surprise!).

Monday, December 22, 2008

Day 29 - Beginning of Week 5

Although chronologically this is the start of week 5, the Boot Camp requirement was suspended until we come back on Jan 5.

Despite this, we still are continuing our follow ups and if we can have more new leads, the better.

I sent e-mails to five leads I got apparently from the cards I distributed in the mall. One was from Canada who is a referral from another network. I did call them but got voice messages and just left a message.

I made another visit to the library to follow up the Executive Director for their sign up. However, he is not around because he is on Christmas vacation for 2 weeks. I just talked to the librarians who were all excited to sign up once the library goes on board.

Sunday, December 21, 2008

Day 28 - End of Week 4

It's the end of week 4 and although the boot camp is not in full speed, I am continuing to follow up my leads.

I received about 5 e-mails today from those that I have written signifying their interest in looking at My Power Mall. I will call them tomorrow.

I will also do follow ups next week. I still don't have any sign up.

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Day 27 - Second Day of Snow Storm

After getting at least 6' of snow yesterday, snow continued the whole day probably adding another 6' of snow.

I have to finish my Christmas shopping so have to go to the mall. Surprisingly, being the last weekend of shopping, the mall was full. Traffic going into the mall was slow and parking was difficult. (I though we were on a recession).

Despite my objective to complete my shopping list, I haven't forgotten that this is an opportunity for my MPM business. I talk to several store managers that I went and gave my card. Most of them were busy and cannot talk to me. Some ask me to call back and come back so we can discuss this.

I tried talking to some shoppers but never got a chance to get information. Some of them got my card though.

I was not able to do follow up calls.

Friday, December 19, 2008

Day 26 - Snow Storm Friday

I dialed in this morning on the conference call but there was nobody there. Maybe I'll just participate in the evening if there is one.

There was a big snow storm today so I did not get out. Spend much of the day calling and sending e-mails.

I still got 3 additional names from a previous referral. I have their phone number, called them and got their e-mail address. After, giving them a brief overview of the business, I told them that I'll send them the link.

I also researched more business in my area that I can send letters and e-mails.

Thursday, December 18, 2008

Day 25 - Another Non Profit

The highlight of my day is the prospect of another non profit that I can sign up. This non profit is called Soldier On, which help homeless veterans. I met meet the advisor of the organization and gave my card. He will look at the web site and will set up a meeting with the President next week.

I then went to Pioneer Valley High to meet with Gina, the coach. I gave her the site and explained to her how we can raise money for her team.

By luck I got my 5 contacts today. I thought I would get only 2 but when I went to my daughter's school, I met a lot of parent and was able to get 3 more.

Sent follow up e-mails and phone calls the rest of the day. Total calls -10. Most were voice mail and was able to talk to one who is not very interested but told me to call him again next week.

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Day 24 - Whole Day to Follow Up!

This is the first day without conference call so I have 2 extra hour to follow up. We just had a bad snowstorm so schools were closed.

I was supposed to have a meeting with the Athletic Director and Principal to answer their question. Since there was no school, I have to call when we can meet again.

I sent 10 e-mails to businesses and made follow up calls in the morning. Most of them were not in their stores. However, I was able to talk to one owner of a hardware store, David, who watched the video and have questions about the business. He thinks it is an MLM. I explained to him how it is not an MLM (no selling, no product to buy).
He said he'll think about it.

I went to my daughter's school and tried to meet with some parent and gave them my card. I made some more phone follow up later in the afternoon.

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Day 23 - Results

Prior to today's conference call with Ginny and Jacki, I made 15 follow up calls to businesses I have sent my e-mails to. I was able to make 2 appointments for Thursday.

About 3 people didn't have a chance to watch the video and the rest I was not able to talk to because they are either busy or not in their store.

I was able to talk to Brad, owner of Mantis Graphics and he was able to watch the video. He still have some questions so I have to call him again or meet him at his office next week.

During the conference call, Ginny and Jacki suggested a script to tell prospects who has no time to look because they are busy for the Holidays. Ginny also announced that the requirement of getting 5 contacts a day is being suspended for the moment until Jan 5.

The intention is for all of us to be able to follow those on our list.

For the rest of the day, I still went to get my 5 (in fact for the day, I got 8!). I was just lucky that 2 business I called and left a message, called me and set up an appointment.

I also got an e-mail for an out of town non profit whom I sent a proposal. They are interested in what they have to offer and will set up a conference call.

What to say When somebody say NO

Aletha's Blog Post last Friday, Dec. 12, about talking to somebody who is not sure or said NO.

When you ask " Were you able to watch the entire presentation?" and a reply "Well no... "

You can reply "Since you are not interested (or not sure) can I ask you a few question?". The answer more often than not is YES.

Ask "..will you be buying gasoline, groceries or toilet paper?" The reply most is "Well, of course" Then ask, "Well, do you know 5 people that will be buying gasoline, groceries and toilet paper?" "Sure" is the reply. Then tell him/her "OH!... well you already have it made! You get paid to pay your bills and buy your groceries and such. When 5 of your friends do the same, you can have an income coming in!".

Even if you make a measly $50 per month from My Power Mall, wouldn't that help? Fifty bucks can help you pay off your phone bill, water bill, whatever...The point is, extra cash flow helps! Am I right?

Day 22 - Start of a Week 4

At this morning's call Ginny again emphasized the importance of follow up making it a priority for the next few days. Most WCM Reality Boot Camp have accumulated between 50-70 leads that must be developed.

I tried to hit the 3 places that have a high priority for signing: the library, Mt. Tom's Ice Cream House and Mary Ann Hanlon's Dance Store. The director at the library was not there but I talked to all the librarians who was very excited about teaming up with My Power Mall.

Mary Ann Hanlon has seen the video but has not decided to sign up. At Mt. Tom's, Jim the manager was busy when I came and have no time to talk.

I went to the schools again to talk to the Athletic Directors regarding raising funds for the booster clubs. They asked me to come back to answer some questions.

During my trip over the weekend at New Jersey, I met some people who are also involved in non profit. One is from Virginia and the other from California. I will be in touch with them to explore fundraising possibilities for non profits they are involved with.

Day 21 and End of Week 3

It's day 21 and the end of Week 3. I just arrived from a very busy weekend in New Jersey. Although, it is not required, I didn't get a chance to blog yesterday. I would have wanted to blog everyday so I can make a journal of everything that is happenning (this is a 24/7 business right? lol).

Although, they will not be local, I made contact and got info from the people I met while in New Jersey. I will probably not include all in my official leads, but they will definitely be my leads even after the WC Reality boot camp.

It's the end of week 3 and I still have no signup but have several with good prospects. I will follow them up aggressively next week.

I have 66 contacts on my list at the end of this week.

Friday, December 12, 2008

Day 19 - Results

Despite the bad wintry weather, my appointment at the school was confirmed and met with 2 booster club members to discuss raising funds for their organization. The third person who was supposed to be with us didn't make it due to the weather.

Got an e-mail this morning from Camille whom I think I gave a card and told me that she is interested. I e-mailed her to set up a meeting or phone call so I can sign her up.

I will be listening to today's morning WC Reality Boot Camp conference call on the road travelling to New Jersey. I'll try to do follow up calls in between my travel and helping out a relative for a baptismal party. If I am not able to post anything else today, I will do it in my Sunday or Monday blog.

I'm sure will meet a lot of new people (and get their information) over the weekend.

Thursday, December 11, 2008

Day 18- Catching up

I blogged late today because lots of things are going on. I will be going to New Jersey this weekend to help a cousin prepare for a baptismal party.

Since it will be a short day tomorrow, I worked longer today to get more prospects and leads. I got 8 and have a schedule meeting tomorrow for 3 people who was referred to me by the school's athletic director.

I made 15 phone calls to follow up my previous leads. Most of them are on voice mail except 3 that I was able to talk to.

Talk to David who set up a meeting next week so we can discuss his questions. The 2 others have not seen the video so I told them that I will call in 2 days.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

Day 17 - Follow up Meetings and Follow Up Calls

Since I know this is a busy day for conference calls, I went for a meeting with the president of the Little League to finalize our fundraising for their group. However, when I arrived for the meeting, it was the other officer (VP) who will attend because David the President has an emergency meeting. Although, we cannot finalize the deal, I was able to explain to him about My Power Mall and got his information.

After the wonderful conference call this morning with Linda and Ginny, I made some follow up calls.

Had another meeting with Tony who is helping me out with the foundation mall I'm building. He gave me 2 names to call who can sign up and help us out.

Final meeting is with Jim, the owner of Mt. Tom's Ice Cream. However, the store became busy so he has to cancel,. So, I hang out in the cafe and gave my cards to some of the customers. Some gave their information but some didn't.

Had 12 more follow up phone calls in the evening and was able to talk to 2. Will call them again tomorrow because they might sign up.

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

Day 16 - Results

I started the day planning my appointments and doing follow up calls.

Talked to Russ who e-mailed me yesterday and wants more information. He will look at the site once he received my e-mail

After the morning call with Ginny, I went to survey the local businesses again for prospects. I went to eight establishments and got 4 of them to give their information.

Last destination was a meeting with the Executive Director who has not made a decision whether to sign up. While in the library, I was able to talk to a patron who gave me his information.

Monday, December 8, 2008

Day 15 - Cold Calls on a Cold Day

It is cold today and the day's temperature started at the single digit and was only 28F at its height for the day.

After, the morning conference call with Ginny and after my duty at MPM Customer Service Live Chat, I went out to do follow meetings. My warm market in the area is starting to shrink and I have to do cold calls in order to be able to get more contacts and their information.

I went to the Library to see if the Executive Director is in his office. This is to follow him up whether he already watched the video. However, he is not in the office today.

My next destination is Westfield High School to meet with the Athletic Director. He will introduce me to the PTA President and the booster club president. During the meeting, I explain to them how MPM can help in their fundraising. They will look at the video presentation.

There was strip mall near the school so I went cold calling to several stores. Went to the first 2 stores and did don't to give any information and just got my card. However, the next stores were interested and gave me their information. I'll get back to them after 2 days.

I only made few follow up calls but was not able to talk to anybody and just left messages.

Sunday, December 7, 2008

Day 14- Week 2 Result

For the day, I sent follow up e-mails and made some follow up calls.

As we end week 2, I don't have any sign up yet. However, it is just a matter of time and I am not discourage. In fact week 2 has given me more courage to pursue lots of leads.

I have now a total of 41 names with complete information and about 10 more with incomplete information that is not considered on the list. I think have about 3 ready to sign up. (Library account and 2 parent supporting the school's fundraiser).

Lessons Learned from Herbert

I was reading Herbert's Blog Post yesterday and realized how we call experience evertime we go out a meet people. He is right that whatever is the result of such encounters, always Smile and say Thank You. Read more of his Blog and here is an excerpt:

"Last month I was at the super market and a lady with two young kids was leaving the store with a cart overflowing with groceries. Her cart was so full that she was using her body to keep things from falling out. I approached her and said excuse me miss My name is ___________ and I'm doing a survey for a maketing company. Can I ask you one quick question? She has not stopped walking so I'm walking beside her. Some of her groceries fall out of the cart so she stops. I pick up the packages hand it to her and say would you be interested in learning how you could have earned income for everything you just brought. How you can get paid for buying groceries. She looked at me with a smirk and said look buddy get lost. I smiled said Thank You and went on my way. I would have handed her a card but I didn't have them then. Folks she didn't hear a word I said. LOL

You see even though MY POWER MALL TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD is a business that everybody can benefit from, everybody isn't ready for it. But our business will always be ready when they are finally ready for it. And as sure as the sun will shine tomorrow sooner or later they will be ready."

Day 13 - Follow up and Planning for next week

Spent the day calling and following up all my leads and new leads. Although I was not able to meet with prospects, I gave out cards in the mall and the supermarket.

Had one very good call who will support the Foundation in my mall and may sign up over the weekend.

I will finalize my meeting and prospecting schedule for next week over the weekend.

Friday, December 5, 2008

Day 12 Results

Had a meeting with Frances the Library Executive Director. He has some questions on how My Power Mall works and how it can help them. We rescheduled a meeting again next week after he has studies everything.

I was able to talk to David briefly regarding the Easthampton Little League. He asked me to come back next week to discuss this further.

I did 10 follow up calls for the day and left messages. Talk to 2 people who have not seen the video.

Got my 5 people from the library and the drugstore.

Another Good One from Shuli

Shuli's Blog Post today illustrated how you can start a conversation with your American Express Gift Card.

When she checked into her hotel she took her American Express gift card, she said "I get paid when I use these". The woman said "...really? What do you do for a living?" She explained that she get paid when I use these cards to shop and when she tell others too."

Day 11 - Busy Day But No Sign Up

Today is relatively a short day for me.However, I achieved my 5 contacts with information.

Met with 2 referrals by Northampton High School Athletic Director. Gave their info and told me that they will look at the site.

I hanged out at the library and talk to 3 people. However, 2 of them were reluctant to give information but got my card. The other lady, Megan, gave her information.

I had a chance meeting at my daughter's school with one parent, Lisa Hayden, and told her about my fundraising for the Performing Arts Club. She got my card and will look at the site.

Lessons Learned from other Campers

Aletha's Blog Post mentioned flyers being distributed to children for their parents. However, it could also be what you could provide to explain "what My Power Mall can do":

"...If you know of 5 people who buy groceries or gasoline, we can show you how to do more than save money... we will show you how to make money. All of these while building local charities... while at the same time, building a fund for whatever... (maybe it is a new gym, new uniforms...)

Andrea's Blog Post related her experience when she encountered a shoe clerk in a mall: She said "I have my own PowerMall and I get rebates back from everything I buy!In fact, My PowerMall also gives money to a charity that I chose. Here, let me give you my card and the web site address..."

In her previous blog, Andrea also gave us an idea to how approach schools. One of my contacts was the superintendent of our school district. "Schools are being hit hard here in Maine with budget cuts. I said to her I am an ambassador for My PowerMall, a division of Together We Can Change the World. The mission of My PowerMall is to provide perpetual funding for schools, non profits and regular people just like us! Can you imagine having ever INCREASING funding for school programs? Can you imagine teachers, janitors, lunch ladies and principals getting a monthly supplement to their pay of over $2000? Can I please have your contact information so we can discuss this?

For businesses and a part of new Business Partnership Programs, I like what Debbie mentioned in her Blog :

"I put together a list of 100 contacts, names, addresses, phone numbers and email address (if they had one) of businesses in my town~ . Yes, I actually came up with 100. I couldn't believe it. Then, I snail mailed & emailed to 10 businesses today. I will follow up in a couple of days. I'm very interested to see what kind of reaction I get. I'm optimistic it will be a favorable one :)

The purpose of the new Business Partnership Program is to bring businesses into partnership with TWCCTW & My Power Mall in order to provide ongoing funding for a local charity, provide ongoing funding for the business owner & employees, and to provide ongoing funding for the member who initiates the partnership. This partnership will also give the businesses an opportunity to make a difference in their communities and to gain free exposure as a TWCCTW partner to all My Power Mall members.

This program will be an additional, powerful way for members to build their businesses if they have a hard time making contacts, or just feel more comfortable talking with local business .

Jean L gave us some ideas when talking to prospects: "Well, the World Changer Reality Boot Camp is a program designed to prove that 25 ordinary people can bring in at least $2000 per month within 60 days through My Power Mall. I'm one of those 25, and I'm wondering if you might be interested in joining my team so we can help each other reach that goal?"

Shuli again gave us a powerful way to introduce what we are doing ".. I work for Together We Can Change the World raising money for Aids orphans, handicapped kids and foster kids and I am building a team to reach $2000 a month in 60 days centered around commissionable gift cards...would you like me to send you the link? I would like working with her and hope that she enjoys the link.

Richard de Mint's advise in his Blog that "..when I know I have lost them and it would take some selling to get them back.... So I leave them with my card and say 'if you would like please follow my blogs and see what happens at the end of 60 days and if you change your mind and decide that changing your life and the world is something that you want to do. then please feel free to call me I would be happy to help you.."

Last but not least is Lisa J's Blog on how to avoid a ticket when you get pulled over by a cop.

Day 10 - Results

The day started slow today. I went to see 4 establishments to solicit their support for the Performing Arts Foundation that I raising money for. The first there were not interested but still got my card. The 4th one gave his information and will call me after looking at the site.

I went to the Community Center to talk to the director. However, she was not in the office. The Center is the other non profit I am signing up to raise money for.

I then went to the Library to talk to the Director (who is not busy at the time). He seems to be interested and will look at the video presentation.

My last stop was the school to meet with the booster club president and coach. I got their information and scheduled a follow up call.

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Day 9 Results

I got 3 business establishments to give their information and will follow them up in a few days. Generally, I offered them the American Express Gift to help my local charity and as a way for them to reward their employees and customers. I think the best part for them is they will also benefit by doing this.

Had 2 meetings that was rescheduled because the business owner was not present.

I met James Blain at the High School. He is interested to raise money for the school PTA and will call me after he watch the video.

Also, talked to Barb Pricket for her booster club fundraiser.

Day 9 Plans

Doing follow up calls and e-mails this morning before the WC Conference call.

Will go to business establishments to talk to them about partnership with helping my local charity.

Will meet with David who runs the Easthampton Little League for a possible fundraiser.

Will do more follow up calls and e-mails tonight.

The Conference call today was about the launching of the new Business partnership program and about follow ups,

Day 8 - Start of Week 2

This first day of week 2 started slow but towards the end of the day, I got new people with information and indicating interests.

Before this morning's call, I made several phone follow ups but got all voice messages.

After the WC Reality Boot camp conference call, I went to downtown to follow up some of the businesses that I talk to previously. I was not able to talk to the owners who were not in their offices yet. However, I got to talk to 3 people in the mall and was able to get their information.

Late in the afternoon, I went to Easthampton High School for a meeting with John, the Athletic Director. We met with 2 booster club presidents (Soccer and Football). I gave them my information and the web site and they will get back to me for questions.

Week 1- Result

Although I didn't have any sign up for Week 1, I have several prospects which has very good potentials.

Only got a total of 16 names with complete information. However, I got several with only phone numbers so I can still call them up.

Being out of town during Thanksgiving made my information gathering a little bit challenging since I have to get people in my area.

Sunday, November 30, 2008

Day 7 - It's Sunday

It's Sunday and although we are not officially required to get our 5, we go to Church and can meet a lot of people to tell them what we are doing. Jewel Stuck in her Blog did this yesterday. (She is not even going to church but just pass by a church). Read her interesting story.

Usually after church, we go and have either a late breakfast or lunch or brunch and again, this is a chance to meet prospects.

The American Express Gift Card toward generating $2,000 a month

Shuli's Blog illustrated how the American Express Gift can be the pathway to generating $2,000 using the Power of 5. She proved that after just reaching your Level 4,you (or the non profit)can already reach our target income.

Day 6 -Follow up

I spent the day reading blogs and updating my blogs. Also, did some follow ups with those I met yesterday.

I called Lily Liu and asked "What was your impression of the web site?". However, she told me that she didn't have the time yet to look at the site.

I also called Any Yip to follow up but I got a voice message from his phone.

Again, what to say

From time to time, I read about interesting ways to describe what we do and what My Power Mall is all about.

This is one of those from Sandy W's Blog Post. "There really is no opportunity like it--you can earn money back on everything you spend, you don't have to stock or sell any products, and you simply refer others to take advantage of the opportunity along with you!"

Shuli in her Blog Post put it this way: She explain that "...we are not selling anything but rather giving people a way to earn when they buy things and when they refer others. How many people you know buy gas and groceries and who will be charging gifts for the holiday season? Wouldn't you appreciate getting money back every time you did? How would you feel about helping people make money when you shop?

Eleanor Norton has a way of selling the World Changer Mall this way in her Blog: "... we have an opportunity to help a lot of people achieve their dreams with a business, which has very low start up cost of only $29.95 and only $15.95 a month maintenance. The thing is, you can actually recoup your cost and make a small profit by getting $25 worth of free gas every month. Let's see, cost just under $16, get $25 worth of gas vouchers...seems like a no brainer to me."

If you're staying home and not going out, Jean L's Blog suggested that: "... it's perfectly appropriate for anyone who has talked to others about MPM in the past to try those same people again with this fresh approach: ("I just started a World Changer Reality Boot Camp last Monday. The idea of the Boot Camp is to prove to the world that 25 regular people can start earning at least $2000 per month in 60 days. I'm gonna do it and I'm looking for a team of 10 other people to do it right along with me. Check out the website and let's talk about it")".

Another Idea Where to talk to Prospects

It is interesting to know how Herbert in his Herbert's Blog Post wrote about where to talk to prospects. By making a conversation with people who are giving to the Salvation Army in a Stop and Shop Supermart, he is in the right place because these are people who "giving" and will be interested in giving more.

Richard DeMint in his Blog gave us all an idea that your garage sale is a perfect place to meet prospects.

The Fear of Failing

It is a consolation to read all the boot camper's blogs and to know that you are not alone in your fear and fear of failing.

Julia Wilkin's Blog today (Nov 29) expressed this fear. I was just talking to one of my My Power Mall business partners Don Nwose who told me that as long as people "stay on it" and be persistent, they will be successful and make it.

I agree with Don. In fact, even if it takes us 90 days, 6 months or even 1 year, we are already a success! Imagine being able to help a non profit reach $2,000 a month?

Ed Brook's Blog Post share his experience of being stuck somewhere waiting for hours to get his chance of talking to prospects. Ed, you're not alone. We are all experiencing that. All I can say is, once you start talking to them, it does not stop.

Please also read how Lisa J is overcoming her fears in her Lisa J Blog Post. Pam's Blog also share how she is addressing her fear.

Day 5-Talking to Strangers

After this morning's conference call with Ginny and Jacki, I went straight to my friend Richard's Shop. He promised to help me talk to some of his customers.

For the 2 hours I was in his shop, there were 3 people who was kind enough at least to talk to me because they are not in a hurry. I explain to each one of them separately what I am trying to do for non profits in general (raising $2,000 per month). All of them seems interested and got my card. However, they were reluctant to give their information.

I stayed at the Panera Bread for an hour and tried to talk to several people. Two of them didn't want to be bothered and two got my card with giving any information.

During dinner, my friend Andy brought his friend Lily who is a PTA officer in her school. I told her about my project to raise $2,000 for non profit and asked if her school PTA might be interested. She is very interested and I got her information so I can get back to her. I was able to explain to her more of what MPM is doing while having dinner.

Although I only got 3 complete information today, I was able to talk to 10 people and spread the word about what we are doing.

Day After Thanksgiving and I'm Out of My Area

I know that for our boot camp, our priority are the local prospects to support the local cause we are helping. However, I am out of my area for the Thanksgiving weekend and have no other alternative but to seek prospects who might want to help me out.

I lived in this part of New Hampshire a few years back so I still have my network in the area. After this morning's conference call, I will be heading to meet a friend Richard who operates a coin and gold shop. My plan is to talk to his customers and find if they might be interested in helping me out.

There is a Panera Bread in the area so I will hanging out there with my computer because I will be on duty at the MPM Customer Live Chat from 3-5pm EST. Hopefully, I can stalk enough nerds there that I can introduce MPM.

Then I will be heading to Boston to have dinner with a friend Andy who is a booster club officer in his son's school. Andy promised to bring another friend who also involved in his school's PTA.

It will be a fun day!

Approaching People in the Library

Shuli Kleinman commented on my post today and ask me for suggestions on approaching people in the library.

My situation is probably unique in that I frequent the library (almost everyday) so I know the librarians very well. I didn't have the courage of talking to them about My Power Mall before the WC Boot Camp. However, now I have the spiel ("Can you help me out...) to use and suddenly they are now good prospects for me.

Also due my good relationship with them, they are now talking to other library patrons so they could talk to me about this "Boot Camp" training.(If I sign them up, the more they will be motivated to refer people to me!). Going forward, when I talk to these patrons I could now tell them about my project of trying to raise $2,000 per month for the non profits I'm helping (specifically in this case the Community Center and the Easthampton Little League).

Most people who go to the library used the computer and therefore are computer savvy. I talked to one patron one time and was able to show him the MPM web site in the library's computer.

What to say when you get enough courage to do so

Although Shuli Kleinman is my all time favorite when it comes to creativity in talking to prospects, Eleanor Norton's 3 questions approach ( read Eleanor Norton's Post on this topic)is also interesting.

I also like Jean Lachowicz's Approach of using her dog to first "scout" prospects and then start a conversation.

Lessons Learned: Where to go to find prospects

I was reading all the blogs of the 25 WC Reality Boot Camp participant and cannot avoid but notice some things they are doing and how we can improve on it.

My own experience taught me that a places where you find your 5 for the day are endless. The Library, the Supermarket, your kid's school and lately when I went to my car repair shop to have my car fixed (I got 5 there! 2 got complete info and the others at least got my card and will look at the site). Staple's copying section seem to be a pretty popular place to to stalk prospects.

Tom Fruth's Blog Post suggests bakery shops and tire shops.

Debbie Black's Blog suggested Panera Bread. She beat me into this concept because I thought would do this next week. Imagine pretending to be in your computer and just waiting to talk to some people who likewise are working on their computers.

At Cindylin Decker's Blog, she mentioned how she hanged out at Walmart for hours to have the courage to talk to people.

Also read Elween West's Blog for other ideas like the nurses at the hospital and the hospital's parking lot.

Learning How to Blog

This might not be one of those unintended consequences of participating in the World Changer Reality Boot Camp. Being required to blog our progress forced us to learn how to manage a blog.

I have been trying to start a blog but has been procrastinating until I have 100% knowledge of the thing. Well, it never happened until I joined the WC Boot Camp. Now, I'm glad I did.

For those like me who think blogging is rocket science, that is farther from the truth. Get your feet wet and you will find out how easy it is.

I never imagine knowing how to "hyperlink" and "trackback". Although I'm still learning to post my picture to my blog, I'm getting there. It's just a matter of time.

Day 4-Thanksgiving Day Off for WC Boot Camp

Today, we're off for our World Changer Mall Boot camp for Thanksgiving Day.

I spent the whole morning improving the layout of my blog and reading and getting updated on everybody's WC Boot Camp blogs.

This is also a good day to plan for tomorrow and next week.

Day 3 - Going after People before they go Thanksgiving

To adjust my schedule on this short day (for me and other people), I went out in before the WC Boot Camp conference call.

I went to see the owner of my favorite Ice Cream house, Jim, to talk to him about my participation in the boot camp. He offered to help and will look at the site.

After the conference call, I swung by the president of the town's Little League to offer my help raising funds thru My Power Mall. He is interested and will explore the site.

Now, at the school, to fetch my daughter, I bumped into Karen, mother of a student in the school. After a brief catching up, I told her about my participation in the boot camp. She is curious and got my card and promise to get back to me.

My last stop before travelling is at my car repair shop to bring my car for a regular maintance service. Since I have to wait 2 hours, I have a long wait in the lobby of the shop. So, I waited and tried to observe those around me.

I was initially looking for the car salesman (who sold me my car). However, he happenned to be attending to a customer. Instead, I talk to one of the waiting customers who was smiling at me. After a brief conversation, I gave him my card and told him to visit my MPM site as part of my boot camp training. He promised to look at it and e-mail me for his feedback.

I talk to another waiting customer gave my card and gave the same spiel. He got my card but did not gave his information saying instead that he'll get in touch with me.

Also, while waiting I made some follow up call to people that I have phone numbers and no e-mails (which I don't count in the daily report).

I then saw my car salesman, John, who was eager to approach me and asked how he could help. (I told myself "what a good question!). When he learned about the boot camp, he offered to look at the site and promise to call

This is a good day I think having completed 5 contacts with info and 2 without their info (which I did not include in my report and count). I still take time to approach prospects (it took almost an hour to start talking them). In time, I think this will be better.

Day before Thanksgiving

It will be a short day today to fulfill the task we have to do for our WC Reality Boot Camp. Not only for me but for other people who would be busy travelling and/or preparing for Thanksgiving.

So, I have to hurry up and finish the job since I will also be travelling early in the afternoon. My target today is the supermarket which will be super busy and my daugther's school where I can talk to other parents.

This will be another exciting day.

Day 2 Results - Catching Up

After Ginny and Jacki's conference call this morning, I immediately headed to the library where I would, try to meet with patrons. I have to make up for yesterday's result (where I only got 3).

It's not a good time to hang out in the library because it was so busy. I was hoping to talk to the librarian to make a deal with her and introduce me to other patrons.

Without any luck at the library, I went to the mall to pick up some computer supplies at Best Buy. I have ordered these items online earlier. Sharing other Best Buy customers that they can do this is what I plan to do.

I talked to 3 separate customers and gave them my card and explained to them about ordering online at Best Buy. All of them got my card but did not want to give their e-mails and phone number.

I went next to Sears Automotive and talked to my customer service rep. After giving my card and telling him that I am training for the WC boot camp, he promised to look at the site.

Having just one name with only an hour to go before I head home, I went back to our town and went to my favorite cafe and to my favorite store. I happen to know the owners and gave them my card and got their info.

Last place I went to is the supermarket and talked to the Manager, Judith, who promised to look at my site.

The Day After

Early this morning, I was trying to assess what else could be done to improve yesterday's result. Today, will be another full day for me and so I have to squeeze in a few hours of my World Changer Reality.

I tried to plan my day and I have one scheduled meeting with the Theater Director of my daughter school for their fundraising program. I will go to the mall and will try to be courageous and talk to shoppers that I don't know "to help me out" in my WC Reality Boot Camp.

When I get the chance, I will try to swing by my favorite stores in town to "help me out".

Day 1-Laying the Ground Rules for the WC Boot Camp

The World Changer Mall participants had meeting this morning with Ginny and Jacki. Ground rules were set on what we are going to do for the next 60 days to achieve the $2,000 income. It basically is based on what is called the Power of 5.

It's simple yet easier said than done. We will talk to 5 people a day, 25 people a week. We expect to sign up 1 people a day, 5 people a week.

During the first week, you will have 5 new World Changer Malls. Now you turn around and help these 5 new World Changer Malls get their own 5 new World Changer Malls. This will mutiply week to week until you reach the $2,000 per month based on the WC Members you have.

I was hoping that the we will get our new member will be based on our current network. To our surprise Ginny had a different plan. This time we are going to get people in our locality:talk to them, give them an invitation and get their e-mail addresses.

This is a little bit scary it seems. Just like cold calling. However, I remember that we have done this before with Business Partnership Program and calling leads on the the phone. It's just a different approach.

It became easier when Ginny suggested the classic referral approach to a prospect:"I am participating in a World Changer Boot Camp, CAN YOU HELP ME".

Now, it's a matter of asking people so I went first to places I am comfortable with the Library. I know the librarian so I ask her first. She is interested to look at it but she is busy now so she refer to one patron: Ray Magdalenski.

I talk to Ray and ask for his help. He seems nice so I gave my card and invitation and got his e-mail address. He'll look at it and will give me feedback when we meet again at the library.

My next stop is the Supermarket where usually shop. I talked to 3 people but 2 were not interested to even get my card. The other one got my card but does not want to give his e-mail. I felt I want to give up at this point.

However, I remember that I had 2 good contacts during the Local Merchant Programs. Both of them are Athletic Directors in the high school near our town. I went to see them unannounced talked to both of them and gave them my card.

I know at this point (1:30pm) that I don't have yet fulfilled the 5 required for the day. However, I am out of time and have to do my other obligations in life. Next time I have to do better.

My World Changer Reality Boot Camp Preparation

I got an e-mail from Ginny and Jacki yesterday that although I was not chosen as one of the 25 major participants in the World Changer Reality Boot Camp, I was invited to be an alternate.

As an alternate, I will not be in the Front Page of the web site but will working behind the scene. I will also do my daily work like the 25, will do my blog and do my report and participate in the conference calls.

I submitted all the requirements today except my picture because I'm having issues with my camera downloading to my computer.

Ginny and Jacki have not given us any indication on how we would approach our objective of "$2,000 in 60 days". However, having participated in the previous campaigns like the Local Merchant Program and Miracle Team, I know that as a participant, I will be involved in some kind of prospecting, presentation and training of new members.

Joining this program with the end in mind means that to generate more or less $ 2,000 a month means that I have to sign up new members and make them grow their business too.

In preparation for tomorrow's kickoff, I am readying myself shooting hundred of e-mails a day, probably hundreds of phone calls each week and face to face meeting with prospective members.
